chinese new year's (river) safari
happy lunar new year!
gong xi fat choi!
i got six days off.
you know, that's the most days-off my company ever give to the staffs, i meant.. ever! for my soul, that's even better than a red envelope of angbao!
yos and i should have had a chance to buy tickets to fly home during this long holiday, but unfortunately we're too late.. within two days, the price went up almost triple. in the end, have to sacrifice the days-off by hanging around in the zombie city; watching all the movies in the cinema (they're still open during the infamous holiday), cooking at home, doing some graphic designing, sleeping, eating, cleaning, .. and also visiting the newly-opened river safari in town.
i actually hoped it would be something different than a common (water) zoo, since the advertisement they present to public is like a zoo journey by riding a boat passing through one long river. then, i was wrong; it was other version of South East Asia (S.E.A.) Aquarium, the river version (plus a 5 minutes boat ride).
surprisingly, the most fun things i experienced there were: colorful birds, tiny monkeys, pandas, and panda chocolate custard bun. and the scariest thing wasn't the alligator, but the piranhas! just look at their faces, no fear to human.. it was creepy.
* by the way, if you are a tourist, you are able to purchase park hopper ticket (which included singapore zoo, night safari, bird park, and river safari), which is an easier way to go around the parks without the need to queue for every entrance.
once again, have a good year of wood horse! may the prosperity be with you.
